so much to think about...

(somewhat xposted from BI, sorry gals who read both)

As I edited my last post to say, I started my new cycle yesterday. wheee :P As I was trying to get to sleep, I realized it could be the last cycle before we start our IVF protocol (I'm guessing I'll be on BCP before anything else). So of course, then I couldn't sleep as I started trying to figure out when the various meds could start, when ER & ET could be, and how having company at the beginning of June may affect everything.

I did actually get some sleep, but the date-game was still big on my mind today. And today's twist? How to tell my manager about things without getting all specific-like. Because, for those who aren't in 'the loop', I am a term employee with the federal government. My term was recently extended until the end of November, after which time I could be out of a job. Our dept is soooooo extremely short staffed, I don't see it happening, but it *could*...

But ya, so I'm trying to figure out what to tell him when it comes to monitoring, time off for ER/ET/appts. I know honesty's the best policy, but I would prefer not to say anything about being/becoming pregnant until I AM (and/or been extended/made permanent), y'know? What I've come up with is to just say something to him about being put on new meds, and that the doctors need to monitor things pretty closely. I think I'll ask the clinic for a note along these lines (if that's not weird?) when we start the cycle, just as a CYA move.

Gah. just so much to think about... I think I'll be taking Gravol so I can sleep without the extra thoughts tonight.

  1. I've not been through this, but I think I'd be honest about it all. Easier to say for me I'm sure, but I'd rather he knew I was taking time off for then say it's for 'monitoring'. Something that you think is a simple answer could so turn into a lot of questions until you finally just fess up and say "Ok, it's for IVF."

Good luck M, I'm excited that this is finally starting to happen for you.
