Follow up from yesterday's post

Ok, so I'm glad it wasn't just me who was offended by dude's comment at the workshop thingy.
I never know what to say when I end up in a situation like this.

How would you have handled the situation? How should *I* have handled it, and remember, my manager and 3 other co-workers were there, as well as almost a dozen others I didn't know. I also felt like crap that day (week) and didn't feel like fighting. But hey, this is hypothetical, so whatever.

To extrapolate... if/when we do get pregnant from our IVF cycle, say it's twins. If someone asks, do you mention the fertility procedure? Should it matter? J and I discussed this, and I said I wouldn't mention the procedures, and he said he'd be upfront (which surprised me a bit). So much to think about...

so, what would YOU say about all this?

  1. Nope. I wouldn't mention it to casual acquaintances...it's just not their business.

...maybe to my family and close friends. But folks at work don't need that information.
    ...but that's just my opinion.

  2. I personally don't feel that other people need to know. I would think that "explaining" yourself each time would put more of a focus on your past struggles and carry forward the "baggage" so to speak when you should be focused on your pregnancy! :) Just because it would be twins does not in any way automatically make someone assume that intervention was required. Bottom line, it is nobody's business how any child is conceived, the main thing is that they were :)

  3. I probably won't even tell family. What goes on in my bedroom is no one's business normally, right, so this would typically be bedroom work so bedroom rules apply. :o)

    That's my take, anyway.
